Blithe Spirit – Meet the Cast – Dr Bradman (Mick Keegan)

I have been performing with West Meon Theatre (WMT) for 26 years now and I am a familiar face with WMT audiences. However, this is the first time I have performed with this particular group of WMT actors, though I have worked with Helena Gomm before. It has been an exciting experience – engaging with new people and hearing about their past acting experiences, and watching them develop their characters as we explore this classic Noel Coward comedy together. To give a little insight into my character, I play George Bradman, the local village GP. He and his wife, Violet, are friends of the Condomines. George is a total sceptic about the paranormal because it lacks the scientific rigour that he believes in. He is a man very much of his time – think Captain Mainwaring from ‘Dad’s Army’ or Siegfried Farnon from ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ … that should give you a good idea of the sort of person George is. It is a small but delightful part to play. The rest of the cast and I are very much looking forward to performing ‘Blithe Spirit’ for you.
